film club has recently been held at the home of Jennifer, who has no internet connection. Reviews are, however, that in the good old days, preserved in a Word document.

Film no: 108
"Murder on the Orient Express" (74)
Director: Sidney Lumet (the small surfaces to be!)
Actors:
1st Albert Finney (Hercule Poirot)
second Anthony Perkins (McQueen)
third Lauren Bacall (Mrs. Hubbard)
4th Ingrid Bergman (Greta)
Best Actor: Anthony Perkins.
Best scene:
first A hearing Norman.
second The scene at the restaurant in Istanbul.
third The scenes in the restaurant car before the murder, such as Poirots talks with Ratchett.
General appreciation: The actors could provide the kind of old-fashioned gentlemanly polish to his acting, which in all cases Pelle am sure not easy being freed today. And no actor today has the same kind of je ne sais quo by Anthony Perkins. But Jennifer prefers the book.
Score: 4 - to 5

Current music: "There Is A Darkness" (Bonnie Prince Billy), to Perkins' honor.

Film no: 109
"The Maltese Falcon" (41)
Director:
Actors:
first Humphrey Bogart (Sam Spade)
second Mary Astor (Brigid O'Shaughnessy)
third Peter Lorre (Cairo)
4th Sydney Greenstreet (Kasper)
Best Actor: Humphrey Bogart was Humphrey Bogart and Peter Lorre, Peter Lorre. It may be regarded as an impossible choice.
Best scene:
first To break it down: Lorre becomes first slapped by Mary Astor (Which is a head taller than him), then by Humphrey Bogart. Next, Astor kicking him in the shin and then she attacks him with a high-heeled shoe. When he calls for help succeed Humphrey get him arrested, and he obliged during a day-long hearing to repeat the absurd story that Humphrey invented. When he claims to have made a mockery of mocks him Humphrey. He is also on the recieving end of this note: "When you're slapped you take it and you like it."
second All fade-to-black scenes with Humphrey and treasure hunters, especially when Lorre insists on having EXAMINE Humphrey.
third Humphreys replicated at the end of all things FUTILITY.
General appreciation Characters without surplus, taxes, counterfeit, deceitful men and women who turn gay men unconscious and selling women to the gallows, a disillusioned final reply. In a word, hard-boiled.
Rating: 4 out of 5
